My blood pressure is a little high 135-140/85-95. I dont really eat alot of salt, that i know of. Dont stay stressed out too bad. I eat about as healthy as im going to. Dont eat fast food too much. Wife cooks fairly healthy food. I do have a little bit of a taco problem. I climb trees for a living. I work all the time. If not cutting trees then working in the orchard, bushhogging, doing something about all the time. I might be a little high strung. I do not get alot of cardio, some i guess while im climbing or dragging brush. What can i do to get it down 10pts without meds? If meds are necessary, which one is best? Least side effects. I dont want to take something that drags me down or makes my pecker quit working. I would not be absolutely against bp meds if theres no other option, as long as it dont alter my life somehow. I am asking for advice, so lets hear it.....

even a small amount of consistent cardio can make a pretty noticeable difference. And I'm not talking running....just a 2-3 mile walk at a "brisk" pace, 3-4 times/week, would probably make a pretty big difference.

JW thats not that high, I would do like Gormer said and try and get a walk in 4 times a week. and everything has salt in it not just the shaker, read the labels on everything and try and cut it down there.

The best indicator of heart disease is ApoB. Diet and exercise can lower that. Marginally high blood with a lower ApoB isn't as big a deal as the same blood pressure with a high ApoB. Basically any particle with ApoB attached can end up on the artery wall.

I cant see making walking part of my life. Im not against it. Matter of fact, my wife jogs about 4-5mi about every day. I wish i did too. Time is the biggest thing. I just really dont have an extra hour a day. And i know 10pts high isnt all that bad and i believve it probably went up when i quit smoking and gained 45lbs. Losing weight isnt in the cards either, uness i start smoking or doing meth again. Im pretty active and i stay between 200-205lbs. Quitting the sugary drinks would probably take about 10lbs off of me. Im really just trying to come up with a plan going forward. I might could do a little walking at night in my sit on Aldeer time.

I would call and check. Some doctors do. Just Google and listen to the videos on ApoB. It's pretty interesting
Out entire medical system is way behindon the research and understanding of heart disease.

Exercise and diet don’t help mine one bit. I’m very active, exercise regularly and eat mostly protein and vegetables. I’ve been on BP meds and heart arrhythmia meds since I was 22. I’m turning 40 in two months. Diet and exercise don’t help when it’s genetic. Mine runs 160/90 without meds. On meds it’s 130/70

I'm exactly where you are, even to the age almost. Just 1 year younger. Nothing helped me except meds. I even drank nothing but water for 8 months, zero caffeine.

Let me ask you a question? How did they take your BP? You should wait a minimum of 2 minutes after getting into a room before they take it. You need to sit upright in a hard back chair, and make sure your legs aren't crossed.

Your reading is what I get at my regular doc. I go to a doc in the box and it's 110/70.

I spend 3 hours a week in the gym. 2 hours doing weights and an hour doing cardio, in 30 min increments. It's a commitment but it sure is nice to be able to go up stairs and not be huffing and puffing.

Get a high quality magnesium supplement and also Total Beets. Lowered mine 10 points with just those two things.

I've been going to the cardio/ pulmonary gym at my local hospital for about a year now...I exercise there two to three times a week... tread mill , arm ergo( like peddling a bicycle with your arms kind of machine ) New step machine works arms and legs, then there's the eliptical machine...it's kinda like snow skiing through thick snow depending on the resistance and lifting some free weights....but even though I'm working out and my BP is lower after wards ... I'm still on """ Carvedilol """ 25 mgs per day for my blood pressure. Until my primary doc and my cardiologist feels my BP is stable normal only then after discussion did they say I can drop down in dosage or maybe even come off it if I lose enough weight.

I've been on Blood Pressure meds for years now. They seem to work.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.
