It has reasonably high energy/velocity, and minimal recoil. Since most folks can enjoy practicing with the round and as a result develop no flinch, they can carry out a shot under field conditions without error. My opinion, that's what makes it an effective round and a commercial success.

Knew a guy who won a 6.5 at a school fundraiser. It wasn’t a month later his wife caught him playing tummy sticks with another man. True story.

To each his own, shot placement kills animals. I'll keep using my 7mag for everything that don't get an arrow...

It’s a commercial success because they gave it a cool name.

I've seen it before......2 Buddies each go out and Buy one of the NEW supposed to be SUPER Killer Caliber Rifles. They get back to Camp.....go to laughing and playing rough with one another. Next thing you know......one has donned Leotards......grown a Man-Bun------and they are running around in the yard playing BigChief chasing lil White Dove!!

I see lots of people that shoot hollow point target ammo out of their rifles because they are the most accurate. They don't seem to understand why one shot might result in an explosive kill and the next might punch through with now expansion. All cartridges will kill with the proper shot placement and bullet selection.

I’d like to compare the body count of a 22LR and any other high powered rifle in the states of Alabama, Mississippi, and Georgia.

"Why do you ask"?

Too many people spend money they don't have , on things they don't need, to impress people they don't know.
