They work on a wood stove. I don't think the thermo would be needed though
I just popped it on my big buddy to see what it read, and i fired it up on high, and it jumped into the too hot range quick, so i backed her down a tad lol
Too hot for what? the fan? Like it will melt?
The one I had for my stove, the hotter the stove got, the faster it spun. Maybe the concern is not enough sustained heat to spin fast enough
