Its been really slow around here since Christmas......I know there's more trackers now than there used to be but a few years ago my phone would be ringing off the hook this weekend

Tracking has become the new thing and all kinds of people are getting dogs. It’s gotten crazy. I didn’t follow thru with my first dogs 16 yrs ago lab and 10 yrs ago wiener dog started both but didn’t do it right. Now there’s 10 listed for every cnty and multiple others not listed like mine.

Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

Loaded up another young hunters first deer tonight…..Hard quartering to shot with a .270……Recovered him roughly 750 yards from the hit site.

Went two for two tonight. It's a special kind of cold. Bad when you have to knock ice out of your mustache every 10 minutes

I tracked two deer for the same hunter. He shot a buck and a doe. They took the same trail and it made things get confusing. The doe ended up running to a road, back tracking about 70 yards and turned away from the shot site. She ended up being about 200 yards in a straight line from the hit site. We worked around for awhile trying to figure out where the buck went. Finally went back to the road and figured out the buck went straight across. Dogs lined it out quick after that and we found him laid up about 550 yards from the shot site. To make things weird he decided to die in a creek by a dead cow. Doubt anyone would of found him. Never spotted any blood from him

CNC I am glad you found that deer, good job! Was the leg wound the initial hit? No penetration in to the chest cavity?

How deep you think that old well is? As I got older and (just a little) wiser, I got nervous when I came up on a old home place like that!

I'm not sure....It was pretty deep though.....I was trying to look over in it but was afraid to get any closer.....I had two dogs around me too that I was nervous about falling in so I just walked away after snapping that pic.....

Seeing that open well will make you think twice about tracking after dark.

First one I've ever run across.....Its definitely a dangerous looking situation.....It would be awesome if there were some way folks could report them and have them filled in

Helped look for one shot with a bow Saturday evening with no luck……Pretty sure the yotes got him up out the bed and pushed him off…..Not sure how well he was hit to begin with. The hunter said it looked like a high lung hit but the deer didn’t even bed up until about 600 yards……The dogs killed a couple baby pigs along the way……I've grown to hate pigs just because their such a nuisance to try and track around…..

Left there and went to look for one a 13 year old girl shot yesterday evening for her first deer….I believe it was a leg hit…..We jumped him about 1:30 this afternoon a few hundred yards from the hit site....He bayed up after about 500 yards but broke before we got into him and never checked up again after that……Had a couple more calls but couldn’t get to them due to having to take one of my boys somewhere this evening…..We’ll be back after them again tonight or tomorrow probably. The rut is about to peak in many places here.

Recovered a solid 8 pt tonight that was shot way back in the guts……He made it roughly 450 yards before crawling up into a briar patch….It was a tough track in the beginning. We never saw a drop of blood and the only sign of a hit was just a tuft of hair at the hit site. It took Otis a little while to sort out but once he made it past about the 200 yard mark he got it lined out and ran the rest of the way to it with Ruby working right alongside of him.
