I think it has a lot to do with the present and that is just what We know at that time. The only movies that never get Old to Me are Clint Eastwood Weaterns and a few other Westerns like Open Range. I watched Hang ‘Em High the other night for the 100th time 😂

I'm not saying all 80's movies are bad, but I have a really hard time now when trying to watch some of them. Terminator for instance. It's acknowledged as one of the greatest movies ever and spawned an entire franchise of movies. I loved it.

But I can't watch it now. I'm not big on cheesy movies. Times change I guess. I agree with Ford150man, it kinds stains the memories of those movies from back then. It was a more innocent time for me I guess.

As for music, I didn't appreciate the music of the 70's as much then as I do now. There were some great music, but I didn't appreciate it as much. On the flip side, I can't listen to much of the 80's music now for the same reason as some of the movies aren't as good to me.

Dang yall are old. I was born in 79 so I was pretty young in the 80s. But I can’t believe no one mentioned…

The Goonies

RED DAWN

Dang if I didn't read the last reply, because I had seen Red Dawn wasn't mentioned in the long lists. LOL

Another Class of 87 here as well. Agree some of those movies are hard to watch now.

Red Dawn is probably my favorite though. Not 80’s but very close (1993)…The Sand Lot. It was required viewing for our family at least once a year when we all needed a “feel good” moment.

One of my all time favorite movies. Sandra was horrible, wish clyde had smacked her too. Ma was my favorite. I've got a black windows pacoima t-shirt I wear a lot. Most folk don't get it but every so often, someone will pipe up and recognize it.

If it's gonna be a cheesy movie, it's gotta be comedy for me.
