I have a Minox Scope on my 308, and I am pretty sure its made by Leica. Its a 3-15x50 on a 30mm tube. It's probably the best scope I have hands down. I shot a doe with it on the last day of the season, about 3 years ago, at 6pm. Zoomed up to 15x to look at its head and make sure it wasn't a spike. It was clear as a bell.
I know why people like a Leupold. They just have a nice eyebox. Even the VX Freedom and the VX-1's right before the Freedom are that way. I have a 3-9X50 VX freedom I put on a cheap 30-06 I got, and I can hunt with it well past legal shooting if I choose. If you can't get a good sight picture out of a scope, it doesn't matter how good the glass is, at least to me. As I have gotten older, I don't see as well as I used to. A good eyebox helps.

That’s a fair point. I finally got to do a side by side test of my current vx3i and a Swarovski and the leupold was totally outclassed in my opinion.

Minox separated from Leica and became an independent business entity in 2005, and was bought by Blaser Group. But; heard good reports on the product
