This AR has a bull barrel. It also has this rail 2" long on top of the barrel. I tried to turn it over so the rail would be on bottom but you can't because of a gas tube in it. What can I buy so I can put my sling on it? Do I have to buy a quad rail? If I do buy a quad rail how do I know which one fits? Would it be different since this is a bull barrel?

That is the gas block and the rail is for a back up front iron sight. You can buy a short rail by itself and add to your current hand guard if you want to.

That hand guard is plastic from the factory. Can I add to it or would you replace with a metal quad rail. This is for plinking fun and shtf scenarios.

Dpms makes an insert that goes in one of those holes on the bottom so you can attach a sling swivel.

Is it a carbine? Mid length? Rifle length? You could swap to a Magpul or a quadrail if you wanted to. You can probably find something from DPMS that will work like Johnny said.

johnnyreb has the right idea if you just need a sling attachment. You will have to remove the front hand guard. The rifle looks like a carbine length. Magpul makes ar15 accessories like mags, stocks and stuff.

I think I saw some of them sling attachments at Wal-Mart. The other day in their small AR section.

You could also use a single point sling. Look up Magpul's ASAP system. It works great and you wouldn't have to mess with your gas block or hand guard.

Carbine length gas tube is about 7" long. Mid-legth is 9". Rifle is about 11" length of the barrel wont matter.
