Irish I noticed on your drawings another chimney on your addition. Remember height when you build. The old rule of thumb has always been 3’ above the highest roof peak. Or in like ones you see on an A frame type build is once you get 20’ separation you are good. Wood heaters are the way to go. Unless you build a working fireplace it needs to be a Russian style where you get some actual benefit from it.
Thanks for the reminder. I think it's actually 3' above the closest point on the slope 10' away though if I remember my chimney regulations, unless it's changed in the last 7 years.
Yeah... Our little wood stove has been amazing. It going right now as I type this. We are going with another wood stove in the addition. We are going to splurge and maybe get one of the fancy enameled ones if Mrs. Irish has her way.
