The Kansas ML Season is typically the last 2 weeks of September (hot and before some of the crops are cut). However, they will let you hunt during regular gun season (with your ML) using your muzzy tag.

In Iowa they do have a gun season (no high-powered rifles but you can use a ML, 45-70, 350 Legend, 444, 450 BM and slug/shotgun etc) the first two weeks of December. The Iowa ML Season is late December and early January. Many Iowa outfitters only hunt afternoons during ML season. Be prepared for some bone chilling COLD!!!

Also, there are some resident tags that are available in which the land owner (and tag holder) must be present during the hunt. This stems back to the days when they used human drives to hunt/kill deer. This allows a non-resident to skirt the preference point system - but you have to have a cooperating land owner and pay top $$..
