On a food plot this afternoon. My dad asked me for some meat today so big does are in danger. Lots of scrapes around this field as well, hopefully a doe will come out early so I can pop her and keep sitting. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/lyPuvnT.jpeg)

Missed a stud (twice) this morning. Sucks but it was a new buck that I’ve never seen before, so not like losing a targeted buck or anything. He wasn’t too alarmed aside from the obvious so maybe he’ll stick around Did you go check your zero? I haven’t yet (had to run back into town this afternoon) but will be doing so asap. I think the gun is on. Shot a coyote last week without problem. I think the miss was due to long distance (275ish) on a half trotting buck by a surprised hunter. Should have taken a breath, got a better rest, and taken care of business. Instead of freaking out and slinging lead, but it happens. It stings the more I think about it. Missed/blown opportunity

4 doe and a yearling just slipped through the bottom. Seeing lots of deer here in Clarke just no bucks yet. Bout 3 weeks away

275 yards on a trotting buck is probably why the dog man is so busy. Too bad ya didn’t at least blow its guts out so you could find it in a day or two.

Finally had a dang good hunt. Saw 7 doe and solid 7 point - watched him bout 10 min - he lip curled and chase doe around field - think he was 4. Shocked to see good deer chase! A Deer snorted real late to right of field - they all just walked out slowly. Wind was not going to switch till close to 5:30 r 6 - think it got me late - those n field including 7 not hurt

Lil surf and turf action…duck hunted killing a teal and then got to deer camp at 4pm in Mentone and didn’t see anything but had a good time!
