Present but a little tardy. Got to my stand just before shooting time. Didn't jump anything on the way in. Not sure if that's a good or bad sign for the day... Good luck and be safe! Single doe at 8:05 otherwise very quiet this morning. Deer should be rutting here so I hoped there would be a buck on her tail. Turned around to take a leak off the back of my stand and realized the shooting rail was at just the wrong height. Thought I'd lift it just a tad and somehow forgot I'd leaned my gun against the front of it. Whoops...

Thanks, men. I saw it at 7:05, in a thicket about 100 yards away. It was for just a spit second. About 7:50, a doe was acting kind of skiddish, so I kept looking behind her. In about a full minute, he came out walking and grunting every step. I had a small hole through the thicket and punched him out at 118 steps on another ridge. This was public land. I hate it for the guy who had a trail camera set up by one of his scrapes. 6 point , 17 3/4 inch spread. I’m going to guess the weight around 180 pounds. Correction: He weighed 198 at the processor.

Didn’t figure but someone shot at that time 250 yds from us this morning so figured I’d see.

Missed a good one at 60 yards chasing a doe. Drilled a thumb size sapling.
