How many deer would you say you track a week? And that's a good ten. If you get paid more for better bucks you've made some bank the last week!

I don’t know……I don’t keep up with any kind of numbers……I just enjoy finding deer and watching my dogs work. I know all that “bank” is likely fixing to be spent on getting my truck towed in and fixed……I’m hoping its something minor……She sputtered a couple times and then shut off going down the road……It wasn’t running hot but it was leaking coolant out…..It still turned over but wouldn’t crank. I’m just thankful it happened where it did and I wasn’t way back deep in a hunting club or something.

I hope it's nothing serious, and thanks for posting your tracking stuff, the Bama stuff, not so much! Lol

Good deal. I know camp will be full between Christmas and new years,so I'll keep your number handy. Hopefully you're not needed, but I'll get with you if we do.

Tracked another one this evening that was supposed to be a big ‘un…..The hunter reported him nose plowing out of the field but he couldn’t find any blood. We picked up on it and started finding blood about 75 yards from the hit site and it just go heavier and heavier as we went…..Jumped him out of his bed and he took off down the hill and hit the big creek where we had to pull off of him due to property line issues. If the hunter can get in touch with the folks across the creek we may try to it again tomorrow. He’s hurt pretty bad....most likely an upper leg hit. We were finding chunks of meat and stuff hanging on briars as we went

Finished off a young teenager’s first deer today……He shot it this morning standing almost directly under his stand and hit it in the base of the neck…….They jumped him twice then backed out and called for a dog.

We picked up on him and jumped him again about 250 yards from where they lost him……You could tell he was hurt but he wasn’t giving up easy……He finally bayed up at just a hair over 2,000 yards and allowed us to walk into within 15 yards and put him down.

Finally had to track one with my dogs for myself last night. 130gr corelokt 270 and never bled a drop. Dogs bayed him 2hrs after the shot. He broke bay once but didn't make it 90 yards and died. Calls have been slow and of course since I couldn't track last night I got 4 calls slap

We went and checked a clean miss this morning but that's it......Hopefully this cooler weather will get the deer moving for folks.....

Got my old truck running again.....Turned out to be the fuel pump.....Coincidentally the water pump was also going out so we got it replaced too while it was in the shop......All in all, as far as things messing up goes you couldnt have asked for it to have gone any smoother....

Went behind another tracker and recovered a nice 8pt. First tracker said it was brisket shot but nothing the hunter told me made me think it was brisket. 24hrs after the shot Muzz and Cotton went straight to him and jumped him up. The buck went straight down the mountain and dogs caught him at the bottom. Nicked one lung and liver

Nice buck!......We just got back from checking one a guy scratched up on a man drive this evening.....They blew a decent size chunk of brisket fat off of the deer but that's all they had......We picked up on minor blood and followed it for 700 yards before it crossed a property line and we had to call it off....

That’s wonderful. I pissed my friend’s dog off today because I spent 45 minutes and found my own deer. He smelled it in back of side by side and gave me the dirty look. Took his job from him. rofl I still would have to follow the dog and get stuck by briars. I really enjoy following a blood trail then losing and finding blood again and eventually the deer. Fun challenge except for the dang briars. rofl

Most of my longest and hardest non recovery tracks come from brisket. They can be a real bi*ch

Ace went on his first real track today with Muzz. Ace lined it out first with Muzz right behind him. The deer only traveled around 450 yards but had made several beds along the way. Ace beat Muzz to him and let out a few barks to let me know we had him.
