So here’s the first one……The hunter called last night and said he couldn’t find any blood but felt confident he hit the deer…..The other bucks it was running with came back and were on camera except for this one. He ended up putting a pretty good shot on the deer with a .257....it went into the front shoulder on one side and out the brisket on the other side with the deer was quartered away……Otis ran right to him about 250 yards from the hit site…..We only found one spot of blood along the way.

Here’s a pic from above to show the character a little better……..

The second track we had a good idea was likely a leg hit from the hunter’s story…..he felt like it was too……I ran Otis and Lu-lu both on this one from the start…..They pretty much ran right to him about 225 yards from where the hunters lost blood…..They put a good 150 yards in between us and while we’re catching up I told the hunter….”They’re stopped”……I guess Otis was just silently pointing him because they stayed still for a good minute and a half to two minutes while me and the hunter closed in…..I thought at this point he’s dead and they’re chewing on him…..but about the time we get to 30-40 yards, here he comes running by us!!......

That’s when the dogs let loose and got after him…..You could tell he was badly hurt from the jump…….the dogs locked him down after about 200 yards......but he just kept running another 75-100 and locking down again…..running 75-100 locking down…..We’re just playing leap frog around the woods with me and the hunter trying to catch up. The whole time he’s putting down blood that’s getting heavier as we go…..Finally, after doing that about 5-6 times he threw in the towel and we got him

I know telling the county is pretty broad and vague but I’d rather not get into telling much about the locations of the deer I recover.

Total respect for that attitude and policy. That’s the way it should always be handled. beers

Haha I’ve heard those words before. Usually right before someone shows me a pic of a 125.
