Guys y’all do realize that these arrests were probably made after a very brief investigation?
I had a sex trafficking case out of Tuscaloosa County this year. There were several arrests made (12 or so?). All of these arrests resulted from about a weeks worth of activity between the female and the various men. She wasn’t kidnapped in a shopping center, she wasn’t snatched from a parking lot, nobody broke into her parents home and took her, she ran away from home and was doing drugs, she financed her habit and her lifestyle by prostitution.
Do I approve of it? Absolutely not.

I have a similar thought and could certainly be wrong but something I have thought about. I am certainly against scumbags like this and everything they stand for but I have never really understood the human trafficking thing. I constantly read where women are stalked at stores and slmost get kidnapped, etc. However you never hear of any being taken or missing people. Where are all of the women who are being traficked coming from? Besides illegals and drug addicts.

One of them is my brothers age and went to school where my kids go,he lived across the road from my wife’s parents when they lived here,he had good parents from what I remember,they owned some huddle house restaurants

Just 24/7 news coverage plus now it’s sensationalizing for the money. Its always been around, and the 24/7 news makes us see it more often. The real problem is that it is steadily becoming normalized because we are being desensitized to it. Just 40 or 50 years ago it was normal acceptable behavior for a man to kill somebody who molested their kid,in fact it was expected. The pervert would have to be put in protective custody to keep the parent from being able to kill him. Now its more about understanding the perverts feelings and making it just another normal thing that regular people do and somehow or another its the parent's fault because they do not trust the state to protect the child. Kinda how nambla is changing the game as they see it It’s deeper than that but that’s the gist of what’s happening with the breaking down of the moral fabric for ushering in change. Switch it around and look at all those young good looking women hooking up with their students.

There was a case where a young gal was kidnapped and rapped repeatedly. She as given hard drugs immediately and made her pretty much helpless. Her brother recognized her at a gas station and went for help. That may be not often the case but it does happen Another more popular soft kidnapping is where a guy dates a gal and gets her hooked on the hard stuff then sales her into biz. That is more common and almost not prosecutable. How do you prove that. His word against hers. Like you mention though it is often a lifestyle choice brought on by addiction. Then again there’s other possibilities too.

Female (16 - 20-something) makes bad choices and ends up on drugs. CHOICE
Female ends up homeless. CHOICE
Female starts making money the easiest way that she knows how. CHOICE
Female swaps sexual favors for drugs. CHOICE
Female and her drug supplier work out a business plan, he will find her the customers in exchange for some of the profit. CHOICE
Female runs an ad online for an “escort” service. CHOICE
They get a hotel room and business is good, but they can only stay there for maybe a week until people get suspicious and call authorities. So they bounce from area to area in different hotels, sometimes crossing state lines. It’s their way of life and it’s her CHOICE.
Eventually they get arrested and so does every “John” that’s visited her in the last few days.
She immediately “cries out for help”. She’s NEVER been held against her will. She has never whispered to one of her John’s “please help me…”
I feel sorry for neither party in these cases, They both made CHOICES.

I’m with ya Lonster. Unless they have them chained in a room the women could walk any time they wanted. But when you’re shooting dope their lifestyle does not matter as long as they can get that needle in their arm.

Backing Lonester... the media changed the term for prostitution to sex trafficking and scared the American public to believe our young daughters are being kidnapped and forced into prostitution at alarming rates. I have yet to know someone who's daughter has been kidnapped and prostituted. Zero! If you know someone please mention your story but for me I know no one. What is happening today is no more prevalent in our society than it was in the 80s.

It certainly happens that someone is taken against their will it has happened in Birmingham you hear about it every now and then someone will be kidnapped and they will find them a few days later in a hotel room.... but 99% of the time this is simply old school prostitution. All those dudes in the photos likely just the customers from the last few days.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

You know someone personally who was taken against their will? No personally but certainly has been covered on the news around here there was one lady abducted off 3rd Ave North in the middle of the day they forced her into a car at gunpoint and found her couple days later over around Eastlake in a dumpy motel. I think she worked for one of the law firms downtown. So yea... it happens. Not saying frequently. There was another found right over by Regions Field off 65 not more than a month or so back.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.
