Its always been around, and the 24/7 news makes us see it more often. The real problem is that it is steadily becoming normalized because we are being desensitized to it. Just 40 or 50 years ago it was normal acceptable behavior for a man to kill somebody who molested their kid,in fact it was expected. The pervert would have to be put in protective custody to keep the parent from being able to kill him.
Now its more about understanding the perverts feelings and making it just another normal thing that regular people do and somehow or another its the parent's fault because they do not trust the state to protect the child.
