I can also tell you most of the details of the time after we decided as a group to start letting young bucks pass and a young 10 point walked past me. I hadn't killed a 10 at that point and don't think I had ever seen one. Passing on him was hard, hard, hard, but after that passing the young ones has really paid off for us. I bet this was 30+ years ago.

I killed this 11 point with my bow that was a main frame 10 point. He has a split right brow tine which you can't see from the angle of this photo that made him an 11 point. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/Z4yEXghh.jpg)

Both I got were from Oakmulgee back in the day when it was pumping out some giants. Late 1990's. Both were in the 140's.

I've gotten 7. 4 were from Alabama with one of them taken at Skyline WMA. The other 3 were taken in Texas.

a pure clean older(5+) buck is pretty rare, usually have some stickers and such.
