I had never seen snow geese in Alabama until last Wednesday. There were 5 snows on the OlColony golf course #13 fairway. They eased off into the lake as we played through, but never really spooked. Strange times……

. I wonder if that’s the same flock I saw back then. I don’t remember exactly the year, probably 2017 or so, but there were about 100-150 in a wheat field just east of Wetumpka and they were tearing it up.
If you do the things you need to do when you need to do them then someday you can do the things you want to do when you want to do them.

Probably more of the eastern migration pattern of geese I don’t think the greater snow geese get this far south. Then again many years ago I saw several flocks flying over north Atlanta. Roswell to be specific. At the time I’d never heard of such.

I’ve killed two on the Tennessee river. Mounted one. Also killed a blue goose here and mounted it.

Just saw a single snow goose on the side of the road in Lamar County. Figured it was injured or sick. Backed up and it flew away but never got over treetop high.

I killed a mature snow goose in Reynold swamp in the late 80s. They (9) came in from across Muscle Shoals airport. First one I had ever seen in Alabama. First retrieve by my new duck dog too. Still in the wall but it’s ratty looking now.

I'm almost positive I heard snows flying over Winston county last Friday afternoon when the weather was socked in. At first I thought they were specks, but they were getting lower and lower looking for a place to land (Smith Lake) and I'm sure they were snows.

Last saturday morning there were about 200 coming in to the field beside the 65n at the 565 exit at about 8:30 am
