…I agreed to do a “bottom landish” style camo cerakote job

I think it turned out well, but dang that was a lot of work and it was about half what real bottom land looks like

It looks really great! Love the colors you chose. Bottomland and original Realtree remind me of being a kid in the 80s, in addition to being some of the best camo patterns ever developed.

A pattern like Bottomland is a lot of work, but makes for a fun project. I did a switch barrel AR project a while back with a 450 Bushmaster/223 upper. No pro work with Cerakote, just rattle can stuff. It came out well but the "licensed" colors I used aren't correct.

Looks good but too many steps. I would agree to make it look "correct". The more colors the more coats.
