They must have had that buck on one of those yard cables people use for dogs so they can run back and forth about 30 yards. That's the only way I can figure that 160 kept trying to sneaky sneak past that ladder stand. He was trying to get back in the pen. He knew where home was. Was reading through this amazing thread and saw your comment Geno. I think you were trying to be humorous but I think you hit the nail on the head and it is very sad. That buck had probably observed others being let out of the small pen and saw their fate. I bet he desperately wanted back into his safe space much like a dog and his crate. I am no PETA type, but that's just sad.

This is a thread that keeps on giving. It's been a long time since I've read this thread! I enjoyed re-reading and laughed just as much this time reading it as I did back then.
"Free-range in the big pen"... man, that's funny. This guy deserved everything he had coming to him.

Son don't come on here lying about your BS trophy kill. This isn't pee wees playhouse. Take that shucks somewhere else. 257 keepin’ it 💯 There is 2 different high fence. 1 small and one big! Mine was free range in the big pen and was not a breeder buck. Why does it have to be twisted around?? ALDeer gold

Hell I lived in Pelham for 25 years and never realized it was northern alabama or mountainous.

In all fairness to him, I believe he was from south AL. Compared to what we have, Pelham is mountainous and since Montevallo is the center of the state, Pelham is technically North Alabama

That’s a blast from the past. I remember laughing my tail off reading this. A where are they now would create some solid gold threads
