If you could call it that. Thurs night boat packed and ready to go. Wife got stomach bug that evening so that made Fri a no go. Friday night it got hold of me. Not as bad as wife but felt awful that night and yesterday.
Lots of ducks around over the past two weeks. But considering how much water we always contend with is really not saying much I suppose.
Hopefully things line up next weekend.

I've got a place down there but always heard it was VERY crowded Duck hunting. Guess if you got far enough North into the Delta it might not be too bad.

It’s always bad down here Buckwheat. Always. And if there are any ducks using it, in the delta, rest assured, multiple people know about it and somebody will be right there with you hunting it. There weren't a ton of birds to start with and I got sick and tired of launching at 3 a.m. just to beat some other yahoos to the blind I set up two days earlier. After opening day, everything down there is first come first serve, no spot holding. This was back in the mid-90s. I can only imagine what it's like out there now with all the duck dynasty, sky-busting, bad calling, duck hunting fanboys participating. Heck it was bad enough back then. You used to be able to do good on the divers if you went south of I10 and hunted down in the bay but you need a big spread to pull them.

You can still go out to the bayou and shoot a good number of divers. But I hate fighting that mud and 10 dozen decoys.
