To the best of my knowledge vacant land that is painted purple in complete adherence to that statute can no longer be considered “open fields” [doctrine] so a game warden cannot enter without a warrant, land owners permission, or reasonable suspicion that a game law is being broken. Maybe some of our law enforcement officers can speak to this. Wrong. Any land falls under the open field doctrine. You may be thinking about the case in TN, but that was a TN case and has not made it through the appeals courts to make it applicable to Alabama yet, if it does at all. I guess I should point out that I certainly don't follow this type news like I used to, so things may be different now, but I'm confident that I would have heard it if it were.
