Thank y’all for the information. My thinking is down the road . Land changes hands disagreements will happen I done seen it play out. I want it all settled for later days Then don't rely on a can of paint. Get with the neighbor, agree on the line location, get it surveyed and file a deed. Only way to really "nail" it down. I'm sorry, but paint ain't gonna trump what is filed in the courthouse. Dealt with this exact scenario many times. If there us nothing in writing, the judge will go by what is filed in the courthouse. Verbal agreements mean nothing when one party dies. I don't understand the" file a deed " part. Would you not record the survey with some sort of agreement document attached?

Too many people spend money they don't have , on things they don't need, to impress people they don't know.
