Im 55…my old man retired outta the army in ‘81. He was involved in army aviation pretty much from when they did away with fixed wing army aircraft. I climbed around in bunches of them as a kid, ut never flew in one. Went to the air show in cullman today and rode in a huey for the first time. I rode in a helicopter in Gatlinburg, but I don't remember what kind it was. They are some kind of wild. Dude lifts it up about 6 feet off the ground, starts it going back towards the mountains sideways and then straight up. I loved the sensation of it.

About 3 groups before us, he came back into the airfield hot…banked n swung the tail around…then set it down. I stood up n told errone in our group if they ask how we wanna come back in…thats the way i wanted!

The left lane is for the the purpose of moving the flow of traffic forward regardless of the speed limit. If your impeding the flow of traffic get your ass in the right lane. It's really that simple...

Used to get to ride in them at Camp Shelby during annual training. Once they did a turn over big drop off. First they went left. I was on right. Heard folks on left moaning. Then they came back around and did it on the right. I saw why. Heck of a feeling seeing the ground drop away like that. Before we left guy sitting next to me said "good it's leaking hydraulic fluid". That meant it had some in it. Got to do a practice dustoff landing a time or two...never for real. I can only imagine....
