I had one years ago a doctor made me when I photographed his daughters wedding. Killed some bird’s with it and then my wife’s dog chewed the cedar soundboard in it
I found a pristine box turtle shell and would like to make one. Problem I have no way of making a small sized cedar soundboard. Anyone know of a source or how ?

The ones I have made are just slate and turtle shell. Hard to find the small shells anymore.

Ya'll have me motivated...I have had a little box turtle shell for years just sitting in my shed. I'm going to clean it up and paint it. I think you can just order slate for calls off Amazon fairly cheap right? Might make me a little turtle call...lol

The one I had used a cedar sound board and was pretty quiet but effective
I made one with slate but didn’t like it
