Well it looks like my 6.5 Grendel upper I got to replace the side charging AR10 upper that was a POS is about the same.

It won't consistenly go into battery. Even if I hand cycle it. Changed mags and ammo. Still a no go. Their stupid online customer service email won't generate a captcha so I can submit a question.

I really don't get it. I have a 223 Wylde and a 450 BM from them, and they are flawless.

From what little I could get the stupid thing to shoot, it looked like it would do some pretty decent groups. This thing has a billet upper too. Anyone got a grendel barrel laying around?

So freaking frustrating. Go to the range, and gun acts up.

And on top of that, I have 2 zeiss scopes on different guns I also shot, and wouldn't you know they adjust totally opposite.............

Yes. See I have this idea in my head. I can have 1 lower, and 3 uppers, and they all fit in a single case. I usually use the 450 in the am. I shot one deer with it so far. I tend to take it in the thick stuff.

Anyway the grendel was supposed to be the evening greenfield gun. Then I would just have a 5.56 for whatever in there.

Still tinkering with an AR-10. I just put my faxon match barrel on it, but I was sore and irritated by the time I got around to shooting it yesterday. Then I went out and shot it again this am, and was still sore and didn't like what i was seeing so I came home, and bought a lead sled on the way. So I will run back one more time and see what it seems to like. It's going to be a toss up between 165 fusion or 130 barnes TTSX. Barnes is only 57.99 a box. Fusion is $20 cheaper.

I wouldn’t be surprised if you’re running into buffer weight and buffer spring issues trying to run three drastically different uppers on the same lower. I’m guessing you’ve got a carbine length collapsible stock on it also that’s compounding the problem. Rifle length buffers and springs are less sensitive to cartridge changes and/or changes in projectile weights.

I'd buy that if it cycled reliably by hand, but it jams that way too. Almost seems like case doesn't get centered on bcg. But I can't say for sure.

Grendel is rifle length gas system.

My grendel from them has been flawless. However, the 7.62x39 I bought my son has been a headache since day one. Side charger that continued to light strike despite installing a heavier hammer spring and enhanced firing pin. Fire once or twice ok, then light strike all other rounds. It got a free ride back to BCA and I guess I'll see how they handle it. Frustrating.

I glanced right over that hand cycle part in your OP.

Check your feed ramp for a small burr. Polishing the ramp won’t hurt either.

Whoever makes their barrels can’t cut a decent chamber consistently. I’ve seen this on their 300 BO and grendels multiple times. I’ve got a 16” Grendel barrel w/gas block and tube that I know functions well. I can’t speak to accuracy mated to your upper, but it’s killed stuff on a buddy’s upper. I pulled it for him to swap for something else. I’ll cut a deal on it, if you want to go that route.

Sounds like you need bolt action rifles.more accurate anyways

What brand mags are you running? I’ve had issues with the my Grendel similar to yours and I changed mags and solved that problem. Same with my X39. Only one certain mag will run flawlessly in it. My Grendel however just has a BCA barrel. Everything else is Anderson. The X39 is the same. BCA barrel and Anderson everything else. But there are lots of BCA rifles in our group and all seam to work just right.

If you have another bolt that will work for that caliber, swapping it out may help. I have seen that work with a similar issue.

ASC and AR Stoner. Neither function. I don't think its the mag, I think its the barrel. I got 2 of the mags from BCA, so they ought to sell mags that function.

Lockjaw, I am so sorry brother! I remember us talking about this last year! Nothing more frustrating than dealing with crap like this! Huge waste of your valuable time and money. I think someone said this previously but sometimes you never find out WHY. Lots of opinions out there on these things. I am sympathetic to your plight and wish I had words of wisdom but your best bet is to get with Gundoc at this point. I am sure he has go-no-go gauges that would let you know where you stand on tolerance. Or since it is a BCA setup that really doesn’t cost much, you could use it to turn logs in the fireplace.

I know this is like deja vu!! I used my credit from last years side charging one to buy this one. I really think this is a barrel issue. I just don't see how they could mess up an AR15 upper or BCG. I could probably swap the barrel out and be good to go.

I’ve been down this road with multiple folks: barrels/chambers are hit and miss. Replacing with decent barrels fixes them all.

I bet I could get it running.i would never buy bear creek anything but ar platform is so simple I'm sure I could get it running.at worst you trade a couple parts around
But definitely give up in the cheap odd ball stuff.but again I get I could get it running but I've never fooled with bottom barrel stuff other than my bro in law buying bear creek 450 bushmaster and his required rifle buffer and tube to get running but again that was him not me
