Glad I went ahead and bought a new Tacoma before the 24’s come out. I think it’s gonna continue to go up, and buying used for the same price as new don’t make any sense to me.

Prices will be up more next year and then more the year after. That $9 trillion they printed didn’t just go away. It’s here to stay, and they’re printing more every day.

They can keep going up with the prices but I don't know who is buying them especially the trucks. People complain about how tough times are and yet they go right on forking over the cash for these 70 to 80 thousand dollar trucks. If these truck prices aren't slowing you down don't come at me with your tough times talk. You must be doing pretty darn good. LOL!

The best index to a person’s character is (a) how he treats people who can’t do him any good, and (b) how he treats people who can’t fight back.

Folks just like to complain. It's the new cool thing to do.

I read yesterday that the average price paid for a Jeep Wrangler now is $59,000. Unreal!

You can make a jalopy showroom quality for less than a new one.

The dealers are in trouble. Drive down University Drive and look. They don't have enough room to park because they're not selling. Give it time.

I got the Lexus dealer in Montgomery to come down 6k on a used Lexus 3 weeks ago. Last year that wouldn't have happened. Sales are starting to slow down some, and that will shift some of the negotiation power back to the buyer.

Just took my 4Runner for servicing and the last two times there were no new vehicles on the lot. Yesterday, there were at least 30 new vehicles on the lot, new Tundras, 4Runners and Camrys.

Yep, but you can't buy a 20yr old beater for $15k and spend another $10-15k to "fix it up" and finance the cost over 6-8yrs like you can a payment on a new one. And that's all the general public looks at anymore....."Can we make the monthly payment?"

Depends on what you buy i guess. Sister bought a new Lexus SUV 3 weeks ago in HSV. All were sold as soon as they came off the truck.

I have been waiting on this economy to crash for 3 years... and I am still waiting. 401ks are up this year, home prices still sky hight, trucks 100k, groceries out the roof, McDonalds paying $20hr. I would actually welcome a crash about now.

But not if I was still self employed, I have the safety of an employer now.

Reminds me of 06-07

They’ve held it off but some of the bigger banks balance sheets don’t look good. Just read commercial properties are making another downturn.

I know many of the small businesses are closing up around here and some of the ones that haven’t are crying about lack of sales and or customers.

Literally came in from walking the dog and commercial about a car lot sale with $4000 off so I’m guessing some things are changing.
I know one of the local used lots said prices at wholesale are falling and expects it to continue. He’s been in the business all of his life. Literally

It usually takes something to blow up and I am guessing its commercial real estate. I don't think Alabama will be hit hard but I am hearing defaults are coming for all that commerical property in big cites like New York and San Fran. Maybe that's what we need.
