I'm considering buying a new crossbow. Cabels's has this one marked down $500. Does anyone fire one of these. Thoughts and reviews are appreciated.

Check reviews online. Ten points have mostly been above average crossbows it seems. Matthews are good just not the best for value someone trying to decide on whether they like a crossbow or not imo.

Did you start sighting in at 20? I switched up to the EVO-X scope and I'm having a hard time with it.

mathews don't really push thier crossbows but they built the toughest quietest crossbow on the market.go to most ant dealer that carries mathews and ask them which crossbow they have the least trouble with all will say the mathews mission. you can change strings on them by backing the limb bolts out all the way without a bow press also

I've transitioned to mostly shooting Vertical bow now, but used crossbows for years before as well as my dad, due to a shoulder injury. We've only ever used Tenpoint and I can say it's been similar to Leupold, the best warranty you'll never have to use. I've got no incentive to look at another brand. I have also heard that the Excalibur, Scorpyd and Mission xbows are also great. I know lots of folks love their Raven's but I wouldn't spend my money on one after all the honor stories of broken limbs/ pockets a few years back.

It sounds like you found a great deal on that one, if you like how it feels and shoots then I say go for it, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

If I'm not mistaken, I think the EVO-X paperwork says to dial it to your arrow speed and sight in at 30 yards, with the second pin. That's what I did with my Stealth NXT and it worked out perfect
