Got him roped.......55 yard shot with a crossbow.....deer started ducking before the bolt got there. This one was probably just scratched across the top of the back......Virtually no sign on the bolt and only a few drops of blood for 75 yards.....He'll be back on camera tonight or tomorrow more than likely

Got another one to go look for in the morning......I didnt ask many details due it being someone I've tracked for several times in the past......They just said they shot a big 6 year old and believe it may be lung/liver and they're gonna give it overnight......This one is probably gonna be a good 'un.

The shot entry was just about perfect on this one but due to the hunter being really high in the tree and the deer only being about 17-18 yards, it created a really steep shot angle. The deer was also slightly quartered to the hunter. The arrow went in about right but came out of the belly a little back only catching the bottom part of one lung and a small amount of liver.

We tracked him 500 yards and found two different bedding spots along the way that proved to be pretty difficult to work through. Eventually though we worked it out and tracked to a pond where we found him floating. There was very minimal blood on this one. There was one small spot just past where the hunters lost it and one small spot near the pond but that was it.

Finally got another track tonight. The hunter told me he had 3 inches of arrow missing and no blood. I figured it was gonna be a shoulder shot. Turned Muzz loose and within a minute after lining it out he was showing treed on my Garmin. The deer ended up going the opposite way the hunter thought it did and we never saw any blood. The shot was really high behind the shoulder but barely grazed the tops of his lungs

Had a gimmie track that came in around lunch…..The hunter and his dad had run out of blood and were walking all around it but just didn’t see him. Otis made quick work of it and ran right to him about 250 yards from the hit site…..I took the opportunity to rerun it with the younger dogs. This deer was shot yesterday evening and the call to track him didn’t come in until about noon today. I anticipated it to be a lot harder track or I would have run them on it from the get go.

That property line thread must have conjured one up for me apparently.....Had a guy last night call that had shot a big ten point on 17 acres.....I told him that he needed to go ahead and contact the neighbors before I even came out.....Havent heard back from him.....It sucks too because he likely had one we could recover.....It'd been a miracle though if it stayed on 17 acres.

Proud of my old dog this evening…..Call didn’t come in until 1:00 on a buck that had been shot yesterday evening…..Otis took it from the hit site right to the deer at just over 1,000 yards without missing a beat. The hunter made a good shot but the expandable Rage failed on him is what we’re thinking…..very little penetration and likely a one lung hit.
