I have several 55gal feed drums that I thought about turning into feeders I could hang up in the woods. We have a considerable hog population so I was thinking about making them into gravity feeders. I wondered if they would swing too bad with deer nosing in them. Never used a gravity feeder before. It would be great to not have to worry about batteries and wires on a solar panel getting chewed up. I assume the feed lasts a decent while as well? Moultrie makes a spinner that takes 2 AAs and will last all season.
