Love reading this stuff. Prices are gonna go up because the hourly guys get a raise. What a joke. These auto manufacturers are making record profits and the hourly guys make an average of 65k a year. While execs are getting 20 million dollar bonuses. What’s really causing the price increase? Most of you hate unions so bad you refuse to see the real reason cars are so expensive. These execs are making stupid money and people keep buying vehicles at these stupid prices. Which gives record profits for several years in a row. But I guess only execs and stockholders should get a piece of that pie. Screw the hourly guys right? Some of you guys are pathetic
"Fair" is what the free market allows. I know it sucks, but I would rather see American made vehicles stay around for me to purchase than for the US based industry to disappear. There are non-union auto plants apparently thriving with employees happy to work there. See Mercedes. From what I understand, the union is inefficient due to roadblocks on poor performers being fired, and prioritizing length of service being the criteria for promotion. That inefficiency = extra cost to the final product. Just the way it is. I will try hard as possible to buy an American truck next time around, but if they make it cost prohibitive I just won't be able to do it.
