Love reading this stuff. Prices are gonna go up because the hourly guys get a raise. What a joke. These auto manufacturers are making record profits and the hourly guys make an average of 65k a year. While execs are getting 20 million dollar bonuses. What’s really causing the price increase? Most of you hate unions so bad you refuse to see the real reason cars are so expensive. These execs are making stupid money and people keep buying vehicles at these stupid prices. Which gives record profits for several years in a row. But I guess only execs and stockholders should get a piece of that pie. Screw the hourly guys right? Some of you guys are pathetic
Have you ever heard of math? Ford has 57,000 UAW employees making an average of 65k. A 40% pay increase like they're asking would be an additional 26,000 per employee. $26,000 x 57,000 = $1.482 BILLION. In contrast, Ford's CEO just under $21 million in 2022 (down almost 2 million from 2021). Ford's total compensation for execs was 71 million last year. Which is only 4% of the RAISE the hourly employees are asking for. Not to mention the execs are bringing way more value to the company and are the reason why all their 186,000 employees have jobs.
