And it should be. You dont demand any kind of raise when you say "oh yeah, and I'm going to work less hours too". Frak them and the horse they rode in on. Perfect opportunity for the big 3 to bust the union once and for all. Bring in scabs and put all the protestors out of a job permanently. Everything has already been pretty much automated, with very few skilled craftsman required or left in any of the trades anymore, so replacement should be nothing more than a body swap, with very little production or productivity loss. Now's the time, they want change, so give it to them.


Won’t work. Let’s use nursing. Most nurses in hospitals work 36 hour work weeks, some are paid for 40 hrs. Union states have brought in scab nurse’s during contract disputes paying them big coins only to fire them once the contracts are settled, signed and ratified. Same would happen in the automotive industry. Oh by the way I loved working 48-60 hrs a week because anything over the 36 was my investment and play money but now most hospitals are screwing you out of 12 of your 36 hrs by over hiring because they can not keep consistent workers due to headaches they caused during Covid.
