I don’t understand a 32 hr work week either. I work over 40 so I can make overtime.
But if they can work 32 and get paid for 60...
I know several people would prefer to work 40 hours across four 10 hour days to have that third day off than to work five 8 hour days. After all working 8 hours a day pretty much eliminates doing much of anything else that day except for the things you would do every any way.
