Chuck got it changed from 3/15 to a Saturday as a way to delay the season originally. Some guy with a commercial hunting operation wanted it to open on Saturday and the CAB went along with it. Then Chuck wanted to delay it all the way to 4/1 and the CAB gave him 3/25 as a compromise. That did away with starting on Saturday and is where we are now.
Once the guys who insisted on the compromise date are off the CAB, Chuck will be able to start it sometime in April, with maybe a 2 bird limit and a 3 week season. Enjoy March hunting while you can, no matter what day of the week.

Enjoy March hunting while you can, no matter what day of the week. There will be hunting in March with or without a turkey season. As for me and my house, we will not stand by watching and waiting. Not many hunters will or should.

I think I'll just start 3/15......
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

What about the youth hunt? Anybody confirm the youth hunt dates? Per the regs: "SPECIAL YOUTH HUNT: Saturday & Sunday the week prior to the opening of spring season. (DECOYS ALLOWED) SPECIAL DISABLED HUNT: One day prior to all regular season opening days. Participants must meet medical requirements of regulation 220-2-.109(2)(d). (DECOYS ALLOWED)" So its either: 1) 16th & 17th, OR 2) 23rd & 24th, with 24th also being disabled hunt day...? I'm thinking 16/17??

I don’t know why people complain about what day it comes in on. If you want to hunt bad enough, you figure out a way. I’ll be there rain, shine or snow. Because every other season comes in on a Saturday,deer,squirrel,duck,dove,why does turkey season have to be during the week? Duck season opens on a Friday…
