Air conditioning. People say that killed the "community" because folks stopped sitting on their front porches, but if you've ever had a heat stroke/exhaustion, or two like I have, you'd agree. Air conditioning, hands down.

I saw a tv show one time about 100 greatest inventions. It went through a whole list of them. Cant remember all of them but internet, email, flashlight, computer, compass, telephone, calculator, clock, radio, camera, video recorder, level and the lest went on and on. The top invention according to this list was the smart phone. They pointed out that it could do almost all of the inventions already listed. One could do without many of those inventions and the smart phone, but it sure makes thing convenient.

i’m a technology guy by schooling - but there are days when i wish the damn smartphone had never been invented - it has ruined social dynamics on a massive scale

electricity & refrigeration & a tractor were pretty big inventions imo

I'm going to be serious for a minute.

If you really think about it...

It's Dynamite.

Without Dynamite the industrial revolution would not have been impossible.

Without the Industrial Revolution we wouldn't have most of the stuff mentioned in this thread.

So it has to be Dynamite.

Air conditioning and lingerie. Alone, each are great. Together, they are fantastic.

If he created anything better, he kept it for himself.

Man-made invention still has to go to A/C

That’s a fact, that stuff will take a man where a log chain won’t drag him. Just think of the wars and stuff that it’s started, made dogs get run over and tribes bust apart. Not only is it the greatest invention ever, it’s the most powerful one as well. Nothing that we’ve known on our lifetime didn’t happen and a certain piece of p***y wasn’t the cause or reasoning for it somewhere down the line. Just think about what’s its cost folks in your lifetime. 😁😁

I’m thankful that eye glasses and contact lenses were invented. My prescription is -7.5 and I can’t see anything without them.

"Real" vaccinations have changed several generations lives.

Yep, Combine vaccines & antibiotics and that would be my answer. Small Pox alone killed an estimated 500 million people in just the last 100 years it existed prior to being eradicated by vaccinations. Who knows how many people it killed throughout all of antiquity. And that's just one disease.

The best index to a person’s character is (a) how he treats people who can’t do him any good, and (b) how he treats people who can’t fight back.

vs how many lives electricity and ‘the network’ have and will be saved by technology.

no doubt Jenner and Fleming saved countless lives, but modern tech will supersede them exponentially going forward

Taco Bell
It makes the human body act in ways it normally doesnt by tasting good but then activating our built in nuclear reactor
It makes old men move like they were 18 again but sometimes to no avail
It causes the use of several other products like it has a chain reaction at time
It make people cuss that usually dont and yet they still go back for more
