I did not get a chance to scout but will be out there this weekend. We will see how it goes. The front moving through on Friday might get things moving. Is there any rule to how early you can get out there on the first day of the hunt? Read the specific rules you got in your email but I think it is noon on Thursday.

I’m hunting this weekend and didn’t get to scout day. From what I hear there’s not many acorns? What do you hunt if you don’t hunt acorns? I’m in units 1 and 2 if anyone has intel they want to share.

Try your best to find acorns but maybe find some trails in a few pinch points. If you can find an edge between thick pines and hardwoods maybe? I’ve never been there. Just throwing out suggestions

i have units 9 and 13 also .oct 26 bowhunt.we scouted 4-5 hrs .not a lot of sign found but hoping
acorns will be dropping by then . been too dry to look for tracks on the road .did find some sign in
the bottoms

I don’t think any were killed. I had an 8 or 9 I should have probably shot but his one side was really weird but looking back on photos I should have shot him probably.

When is hunted it a lot of the deer we're coming from across cedar Creek. They will wade or swim that creek like nothing.

Hot!!!!killed a hog first day ,finally got on deer sat evening.swing and a miss at a ten pt that would barely make it by their standards .beam length was long enough .not sure about width .saw two 8 and a 3pt .all small .they were feeding on northern red oaks .or that is what I call them .the big ones

I had a pretty good hunt down there this past week. Saw a few 2.5 and 3.5 year old bucks that were borderline on the antler criteria and one good buck that stayed out of bow range. Saw probably 8-10 does as well and shot one with my bow. Only two other deer were killed there last week, a spike and an 8 point that didn't meet the criteria. Overall it was a fun hunt. If you can find acorns or a black gum dropping you will be in business. I found a few Nutall and Shumard oaks dropping and a black gum dropping right next to them and the deer were using that area frequently. If you need any info on units 1 and 2 shoot me a PM.

What should happen is your deer should be seized and you are banned for life from hunting SOA’s.. that’s just me, but I’m a hard Ass!
