I also wonder how many people die each year from a plain old potato chip via choking or some allergic reaction but it doesn't make the news nor do we ban chips.

We then had a family get together and I picked and grilled some jalapeños from the raised bed. Those were hotter than any of those sauces. No one could take a second bite.

🤷‍♂️ why. I’d say they’d as hot as my habaneros since they’re growing close by?

Jalapeños are hot but not the ones you get in a store. I was told the ones you get in a store are hybrids and are not as hot a a natural jalapeño. Like you, I grew my own and they were so hot they were almost not edible.

i read an article one time that said humans were the only species that ate hot stuff for pleasure. Said they tried to get mice/rats to eat hot stuff by gradually adding some to their food. Once they got them used to eating spicy food, however when given the choice the mice/rats would always choose the non spicy food.

I just bought a bottle of "the end" flatline at the pepper palace in gatlinburg. supposed to be the hottest sauce, ill find out later. in the past i have had water blisters in my mouth from hot sauce and several bleading ulcers and I don't think my kidney's like it either. I haven't tried it yet but it is a very real possibility that I could die from it.
