i bet a bunch of you wore jams, parachute pants, and sported mullets back in the day. i've decided if mine want to wear hoodies and beanies in 100deg so be it as long as you're making A's

Just never liked the mullet and i think those type pants came on after high school for me

I hate too damn cold air conditioning too. That right there is not even a real thing! I'd keep it 60 degrees in the house ... if I wanted to be alone for the rest of my life.

Out here on the Arsenal I saw one of the grass cutting guys wearing a hoodie and some kind of facemask yesterday. All I could see was his sunglasses.

High schools had dress codes when I went to school in the 60's. You couldn't go to school looking like most of the kids today.

High schools had dress codes when I went to school in the 60's. You couldn't go to school looking like most of the kids today. Same as me but in the 90's at Vestavia. No hats of any kind, no flops, etc. We wore either plain shorts or jeans, usually a collared shirt and socks and shoes. People got sent home to change all the time.

i bet a bunch of you wore jams, parachute pants, and sported mullets back in the day. Yes, yes and yes. Jams or Ocean Pacific shorts in a variety of bright colors were the rage (predated Umbros). Got scolded for parachute pants at school and told not to wear them to school again...they were too "suggestive" because they were tight fitting (Academy strict dress code). The mullet...if you didn't have natural curls, you got a perm on the mullet and then got the curl tips snipped so they kicked out. We couldn't wear shorts to school, no facial hair and the back of our hair couldn't touch the bottom of the collar on your shirt. Tight rolls on acid washed, shredded/cut up jeans were in, if you didn't have your jeans super tapered by the alterations lady at the cleaners...I've actually seen tight rolls on the rebound, to go with the mullets up top around campus.

I really don't care what they wear. Just like I don't care if someone wears a mask, or has blue hair, or six nose rings. Doesn't matter to me.
If a 15-yo wants to wear a hoodie or beanie in 99-degree weather, big whoop. Same as if someone wants to mow the yard at noon right now. Their choice, their decision.

Most Mexican workers wear jeans and long sleeve shirts if they are working outside. I asked a worker about it and he swore it was cooler wearing long sleeves and he didn’t want to get any darker.

The beanie I don't get, but the hoodie I kinda do. There is a lot of body consciousness during the teen years, particularly early teen years and a hoodie may just be a way to hide whatever imperfections they perceive that they have and if they are long enough will hide the random erections young guys have for any and every reason. Then, you also have a whole lot of "monkey see, monkey do" going on so it may be trendy as well.

Got a younger guy in our office (30ish) who wears long sleeve sweaters/ pull overs when it's 100°
I would pass out and die. I've threatened to wear just my boxers when the A/C takes a crap.
