Lifetime here from back in '86. It's more than paid for itself at this point. I just bought my second son his lifetime hunting and freshwater fishing a couple of weeks ago. $574

Ahhh ... remember when it was $15 and so, so many people said if you can't pay the $15 because "everybody's doing it anyway" then you're a no-good POS non-conservationist who doesn't want to help the Dee Cee Ennn Arrrr.

And some of us said just wait until they raise that "baiting privilege license" fee, because they will, and it won't be long. Because it has the word "license" in it, the auto-increase kicks in just like with the hunting or fishing license when The Man decides it's time for one. And some folks were still all torn up because "It's just a little bit" even though a 7-year-old who doesn't have to have a hunting license has to pay The Man to hunt over a corn pile with his 74-yo grandpa, who also has to have a "bait privilege" even though he hasn't had a license in nine years.

The Man wants his sheckels for you to enjoy the privileges he allows.

Pay for that bait. Pay for that nighttime hunting permit. Pay for that inshore saltwater fishing permit. Pay for the ... pay for the ... pay for the ...

And remember, the "baiting privilege license" will increase again in another year or two. And then another year or two. And so on. Y'all gon' be paying The Man $20 or $25 or more before too long to watch a feeder while "hunting."

Well, I pay the fee because since it’s legal, and I hunt in a club, I don’t know where someone has put something without my knowledge. Rather pay that fee to be “legal”. Buddy and I have been doing a good bit of thermal coyote hunting and it’s damn fun, not going to hang that up. I’m 36 and the math for me doesn’t work out to buying a lifetime license now, especially since I have to add on all the riders every year anyway. My license today was $133.22. I’ll just have to pay that plus from here on out. But not happy about it.

Agree with yall on the extra charges to having to pay for this, having to pay for that....its just a money grab for them. With what I bought yesterday with the all game, fresh water fishing and online fee it was $50.92. After November, Ive got 3 more years until Im 65, then they can kiss my fat arse !!

That is ridiculous. A wild hog is a nuisance animal. You should not have to pay anything to hunt them. We don’t in FL but I guess we have tourist money and you don’t so you rip off your own citizens as well as out of state hunters. I never understood why your state did that other than to rip off folks.

Hell they gave me a ticket last year for lighting one up after the 30 min past sundown thing. Wrote me up for night hunting....... rolleyes I told him it wasn't like I was out shooting deer at night and he said "Might as well have been...... it's the same thing". rolleyes rolleyes rolleyes

Luckily the Judge was levelheaded about it and sentenced me to community service which entailed working with a bunch of kids at the WMA during their annual youth hunt in Feb. Said if I satisfied that they would take it off my record. I went and enjoyed it so much I'm going back next year. The Game Warden that ticketed me was at the Youth Hunt and acted like an ass to me the entire time. Every other Game and Fish offense that day in court was fined $2500 so I am thankful the judge heard me out.

It's not new. The HIP permit deal has been required for ALL migratory birds for 20+ years.
