Starting to get ready for opener and I really need a new release. The one I have is a cheap one that's about 25 years old so I'm sure I could improve my shooting quite a bit with the newer technology. I'm leaning towards trying a thumb release for the first time. What do y'all reccomend?

Some people love them, and some hate them. The way I anchor, I just did not like it. I think its a preference thing. I would try to shoot one before I bought one.

Carter will be the best thumb release. They’re pricey unless you find a used one. Don’t go with the cheap thumb triggers that don’t have a cocking button or lever.

I’m with Shaft on this one. I’m not a fan of thumb releases but I shoot with guys that love them.

I tried a thumb release and I couldn’t shoot it. Bought a b3 caliper release. I like it

My release is about 28 years old. And I'm still using it. It's a Carter's Big Kid 3D. I won't buy another. It's just as crisp now as it was new.

I got a max pro plus after a recommendation from Mathews Prostaff and love it. 4 finger hold and reasonable price point
