Quick question looking for a gun range close to Elmore county area. Anybody point me in the right way. I know there”was” one in Coosa county WMA but don’t know too much about it.
Thanks in advance.

I haven’t. We print shirts for them.

They've done some work to improve the range at the Coosa WMA. It is a fairly nice range for a range open to the public. However, I only go there if no one else is there. If I can slip away mid-day, mid-week, I check it out. If there are others there, I generally leave. Every time I have been and others were there, they had no idea of the common (sense) rules of using a gun range. I'm talking about standing halfway down range shooting at tin cans at their feet with .22's, continuing to scope targets while others are checking their targets, etc. That is why I normally go to the CMP range outside Talladega. It is a much safer place to go.

Thanks Turkey. That’s the kind of things that are good to know. I’m off on Mondays and Fridays. May try to sneak over on Monday

For instance, I drove through it last Friday afternoon. One teenager was loading a rifle while his buddy was standing on the downrange side of the table. Just stupid stuff that could get someone shot.

I think you have to have an up to date hunting license to use Coosa

Good way to get someone shot for sure. No home training sounds like.

Central Alabama gun range club.shorter Alabama
They are supposed to be making a 1000 yard range and have up to 300 yards right now.
They do some 300 yard f class type matches is what got my attention.the matches don't look very sanctioned but would be fun
Soon as they get 1000 yard range done I'll be a member most likely
I'm sure you could go shoot 100 yards for sighting in an load development no prob like any other range

Become an Associate member of the Selma FOP, last I knew I think it was $60/year and have use of their range unless it is being used by an agency for training. We, I'm still a member, have a 100 yard set up for rifles. It is on River Road 3 miles from the City Limits, just past the PD jurisdiction so as to be autonomous from the City if you want to ride and check it out.

Lake Martin Machine Gun is great for me as it is close to my house and reasonably priced. Good folks there
