Hell naw.

I think he said that so we all would appreciate our own country more than we do.

I've been to Jamaica (Mrs. Irish and I got married there.) British Virgin Islands, US Virgin Islands, Bahamas and Dominican Republic... All of our stays except for Jamaica and The Dominican, were out in the general population, and even those trips we went out on our own quite a bit to explore. I never felt unsafe anywhere, but it was clear that their standard of living is way below most place in the US. Alarmingly so in some areas.

The United States is far from a perfect place, but I'm glad I live here and I'm glad I live in a rural area that is safe and has a low cost of living.

We are in Seattle and the Cascade Mountains this week, and Irish Jr. filled up the other day and gas was $6 a gallon. Every place we have gone out to eat has been over $100 for the 3 of us. Stuff in the grocery store is just insane. The grocery store he uses has all local, organic stuff and it makes Whole Foods look like a bargain.
