a friend in Wilcox Co asked me to come down and guide a fella for him, I didn't know the guy and met him at the Bassmaster Inn at 4am the next Sat. Older fella. I carried him to a property Roy owned and we got out to listen. Fella had a short barrelled double sxs shotgun. WTH? We got on a bird pretty quick but he didn't want to come to where we set up. After a while he asked if he could call. Damn, he sounded better than me. Now he tells me he shot at this bird the day before in this same area. And his gun is a custom made Perazziti(sp) with full and full 24 inch tubes!!!. ...and he has killed several hundred turkeys in his life.....
Roy was real bad to leave out important information .... I would have loved to shoot that gun! I guess it would be a grade higher than my Yildiz. So did y'all eventually get the turkey?

We did kill one, but not sure it was the same bird.
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

I am not sure I would know where to start when guiding. I have put some young folk on deer telling them where to climb or the location of my stand. Phenomenal success with this, happy kids almost like they done it own their own. My son came home from Afghanistan years back. Ryan wanted to kill a deer 🦌 I put him on deer every day he got to go. Rye kilt 4 deer in 4 days. Good Lord probably got involved.

Troy - was "Roy" Roy Childers at Sturdy Oaks? There were several members or guests there that would have been comfortable carrying Perazzis as knockaround guns. My FILhunded down there. Bought a Drilling just so he could shoot deer or turkeys with the same gun in season. And BTW, I spent a year one summer living at the Bassmaster 4 nights a week, working for BE&K at Pine Hill. Hard to believe that was over 40 years ago.

Used to be a lifeguard, until that blue kid got me fired.
