I see where there is a park on HWY 216. It appears to be nice and have a launch for a canoe/kayak. However, I don't see any takeout down stream before you hit the river. Is there a takeout downstream that I'm missing or perhaps a put in upstream? Anyone fish it?
TIA

If there is I’m not aware of it. I know exactly where you’re talking about but I don’t know of a takeout spot.

Not saying it's impossible but if it's place I'm thinking it's extremely shallow and not floatable .just a place to place play around with your dog in a shallow creek .maybe catch a few fish wading

Also one of my old secret spots years ago.put in at canoe pad at cahaba lilly park in west blocton then paddle upstream to and old train trussle.tracks across over it gone now but you'll see about a 3-4ft drop/waterfall then there will be an island of rock between you and the waterfall and old bridge pilons rock.stand on those rocks and and fish that deep pool and all the eddies coming off waterfall or drop whatever.can fish that area probably two hours and do well . fishing sucks till you get to that deep pool though but we would bow fish in there years ago in the shallow areas going up to old bridge
Added these cause I know this is stuff you seem interested in

IIRC there’s mountain bike trails out there i rode - its very shallow - most folks park & splash around & drink beer

I’ve paddled up there too. Really pretty scenery and we caught some fish there too. Cool history on the old pylons there.

We've canoed all up and down the Cahaba from Trussville to Centerville. We love it, but looking to branch out some while I'm still able to drag this canoe around. We had so much fun in Florence, AL, that I started looking for other small cities with creeks and remembered this one. I found this video online. This guy seems to cruise up and down the creek with his canoe. YouTube Video

theres nothing between there and the river There's a bridge at Holt Peterson Rd. Hard to tell from the satellite image if you can take out there or park a vehicle there.

Back in the early to mid 70s my friends an I used to swim in the creek just below the bridge on Holt Peterson Rd. The water was deep in some spots. Always clear clean and cool. Also spent many of hours just walking the creek. I miss those days. There is and old mine in the hill side below the bridge if you know where to look. Probably couldn't find it today though.

Good call on the street view. No way I'm going up that. No real place to park either.
