Just today I saw my first Poults. They crossed the road on old 280 almost in the heart of Waverly.....by the Cemetery. She didn't have but 2 though....about the size of a hen pheasant.

To everyone seeing hens and poults, would you say this year’s hatch is better/worse/average than previous summers?
We’ve certainly had the weather to make for a good hatch

June 17th leaving Inland Lake I saw 2 hens with about 10 poults in tow crossing a small road.

We’ve certainly had the weather to make for a good hatch For the two properties I hunt, it’s about the same and probably a little above average. Around 4-5 poults per hen make it to 30 days or more.

This past Friday afternoon I saw a few hens with 2 larger poults and probably 6-8 much smaller poults (had to be from a 2nd nesting). I do believe the smaller ones were very close to being able to fly if not already. Pike County

Saw two different hens with poults in Marengo County yesterday. The first group of poults were the size of a grown chicken. The second group were the size of a sparrow.

There are about 25 in this group, but I wasn't able to get a picture of all of them. There's at least 3 different sizes, and some are still chicken size. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.postimg.cc/nVSj0G21/PXL-20230822-212841294-3.jpg)
