We are getting hammered right now by what I’m assuming is a tornado.
I’ve never seen or heard thunder and lightning like this. The mix is about 50/50 rain to hail.
I even heard the trademark train sounds. Power went out a little before 3:00.
Gonna be a hell of a mess to clean up. Dangit man. I heard it all night, but wasn’t too bad over this way for this round.

The lightning in these storms is crazy. Skinny mentioned earlier about strobe lights. This is a video from mobile 2 days ago. At first I thought the video may have been sped up some and it might of, but looking at the cars on the road, I don't think it was. We were headed back home this morning but south Alabama electric called us back in at 5am this morning
It got rough in Troy
Over 6000 customers back out of power for third time this week

Great time for a tree service/cleanup company. Theres plenty of work now. On the flip side it would suck being a power company lineman
Two roads diverged in the woods and I took the one with deep ruts,hills and mud.It may be bumpy but WHAT A RIDE!

On the flip side it would suck being a power company lineman I'm sure the OT and travel pay is worth it. The crew that restrung the internet fiber to the house yesterday was from Mississippi and they said they had 20 more tickets to tend to after me.

we were without power in Sellers on U.S. 331 for 72 hours. i watched that wind shear bending mature oaks halfway over before it hit our house. no house damage, but pecans and oaks down all over. shear was though in 2-4 minutes. helped clean up a 70-foot pecan tree across 331. had power back on for 36 hours, then out again early this morning from other places nearby: highland home, ramer, davenport . generator back up and running. made coffee bushcraft style - again - with alcohol penny stove ...

Was thinking about a whole house generator but looking at fuel consumption. It calculated to a little over 120 per day

Another nasty line of storms between Montgomery and Luverne/Troy. We may get the southern edge of it but the Pine Level across to Perote-Smuteye, then Clayton, and Eufala is about to get the real ugly part of it.

They were just reporting tornado in south bama
Clarke where i at now is taking its daily beat down of flooding now
One of the plants i am in told me this morning they taking exra 24 hours down time cause trucks cant get in the woods to log - no wood cause it too wet to log. Downtime $ value on a machine like this is over $20k/hour - not good

This is getting old fast. Greenville has a small nasty one, Thomasville, Jackson, Monroeville, etc...too many to keep up with. I expect to lose power again.

We chased after the Tornado in Baldwin County. We sat at the big mouth and watched it hit land then we got the hell out of there. I didn't want to get trapped down there. Thankfully it only did minor roof damage and by the time it really blew up it was over the woods in between Bon Secour and the bay, then fizzled out.
