I've swapped to battery (Makita) due to it being MUCH easier on my back. It is a 2 battery model and lasts about 2 hrs on level 2 (mid-range output) and about an hour on level 3 (high output) and uses the same string as my big Stihl. All but the heaviest grasses are easily done on level 2, so I can get around the house on a full charge and swap batteries for the fence line (encloses about an acre) to make sure I don't run out of juice before done.
