We got poults around here old enough to buy a pack of cigarettes, and you are running over eggs. Yep - south AL and north AL are exactly the same…..

Pulled up to one of our plots last weekend. They're tall now because we didn't plant for Summer. Saw a hen walking to the far end, but wouldn't leave. Shut off the wheeler and walked into the plot. Nest with about 8 or 10 eggs in it. Left immediately.
Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.
My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

I’ve always heard if they attempt a second nest they’ll pick a field There’s poults on the ground up here, actually have been for a few weeks in some areas.

Well I started to post this thread earlier but backed out bc it made me so mad. We usually cut earlier than this year and don’t usually get a nest. We cut yesterday before the rain and I ran by a 10 egg nest. 2 of the 10 were pecking out of the eggs. No eggs damaged by cutter. I’m sure the crows gottem… makes me sick.. north west Alabama..

Yeah I planted beans around a nest last year. The hen flushed after I’d made a pass right beside her. 8 eggs and saw a hen with 8 poults a week later. I was told that was typical for a second nesting.

You gotta cut your hay when it’s time to cut. Most likely this is an indication that the woods surrounding the hayfield needs thinning to allow sunlight on the ground.
"Cull" is just another four letter word...

Man, I was planning to go get everything mowed this weekend since I have nothing else to do on a long weekend but looks like I may change my mind. I rode thru the plots last weekend and didn't spook up any hens or see anything, but that doesn't mean anything.

It sucks to kill one. I bushogged a hen two weeks ago. What was wierd was there was no nest or evidence of poults so I don’t know why she hunkered down when she could have easily escaped

Been seeing poults since early May. Still seeing poults of various sizes, hens on nests, and gobblers still white-headed fulll strut with hens RIGHT NOW. Always been this way. In the past 10 days I've been from Orange Beach to Guntersville and saw all of that from one point to the other. Ain't no difference in turkeys, just different opinions and ideals from turkey hunters.
We were on the edge of Eternia, when the power of Greyskull began to take hold.
