I worked at Gorgas for 3 years. The folks there are like the Harlan, KY, Newport, TN, type folks were in the 60's, 70's, and 80's. They were the best friends you could have. Until you crossed them.

I was Bitten:The Walker County Incident movie  was ridiculous. Mockumentary about some monster running around the woods and people dying from toxic waste and some government coverup. Made like the video was uncovered. . It was silly and 1 star it was so bad.

Great place to grow up….never worried about anyone bothering us 😁 Beat 10. Area is as good (or bad) as they come. 😉 🤫 Y’all don’t let all the secrets outta the bag- I hunt deep in the heart of beat 10 🤣🤣. Of course I drank beer down here 25 years ago too. Some fine people down this way but most are pretty damn mean too. Interesting dynamic!!

Haven’t heard the podcast, but have heard an ol boy say, with conviction, “They’ll kill ya and bury ya in a strip mine in Walker County Alabama!!!” Yep. I was standing there when he said it over in the Mississippi delta. The funny thing is he was referring to me when he said it. LOL!!

I had a girl friend that lived in the neighborhood where the mower exploded.
And I can’t believe the drama with the sheriff department / FBI / “suicide” / lawsuit issue hasn’t been mentioned yet. I knew those guys as well.
Also have an uncle that is a retired detective.
Yeah - Walker county boy here for sure. Hunted and worked all over the county. Father worked with Drummond and we hunted a lot of old strip mines. Some of it is sensationalized, some isn’t. It never really bothered me honestly.
