I realize a chair might not be your thing, but for the life of me I can't figure out why someone hasn't taken the gobbler lounger design from walmart, cabela's, wherever and made it slightly smaller, cut the weight in half, and more well-built? Anyone aware of anything like that in existence? I am aware of all the helinox options, alps, etc... Specifically the gobbler lounger design, just made lighter and more compact.

i agree - the thing i’m using is a low camp chair from Bass Pro - it’s green & i’ve added camo tape to it ... like you say, it’s FAR from being a highly portable option - usually i set it up in a spot (or in the woods) & hunt from there vs carrying it in ... not an option for public land hunting

I have three of them that I leave out all turkey season. I keep them close to fields and I may move them from one side to the other if need be. For running and gunning I just sit on the ground.
I like to deer hunt from them.

I got a Magellan from Academy. They are comfortable and only $25. I only get 2-3 yrs out of em due to the straps breaking.

I’ve got cabelas version when they first came out. Rarely carried it cause to heavy etc. Bought a millennium turkey seat a couple years ago. Light,quiet to set up and very comfortable. I use it just about every hunt.

I would love someone to make that chair in carbon fiber or something super lightweight. Those 6 lb chairs are no fun toting around mountain land or long distances

As I get older, I find myself sitting a lot more than walking. The weight of the turkey chair is just a cross that I bear. It makes my time sitting far more comfortable. Kill a lot more turkeys because I am not constantly fidgeting and repositioning and I sit longer. In my turkey woods, sitting longer = more dead turkeys.

I will have to weigh mine before I believe its over 6 pounds. I would guess more like 4, and the way the strap fits and the mesh rests on the side of your hip, it is very very easy to move around with.

I have one that I bought off Amazon. It's made by Iclimb. It's super light and comfortable. The only downside to the this chair is you have to put is together, it sets up in just a minute.

The I climb chair folds up and I put it in my vest. It can't weigh over 1.5 lbs. It is really awesome. It's $38 to $ 41.

That's what I'm screaming! Cut a little height off the back rest so it's shorter and more compact, replace all rods with carbon fiber or aluminum for reduced weight. Need a 2-3 lb version for long carries.
